Strawberry Cream Cheese Pastry Hearts

Equipment

  • 1 Heart Cookie Cutter

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Pepperidge Farm Pastry Puff Sheets Any brand is fine
  • 5 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 egg Or 3 tbsp dairy free milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out thawed pastry sheets.  You can put them back in the refrigerator or add a little flour if they are sticky.
  • Use a heart cookie cutter to cut pastry sheets into hearts.
  • Using a knife, cut a smaller heart shape inside the heart, but don’t cut all the way through.
  • Mix the cream cheese, flour, and sugar.
  • Spoon or pipe the cream cheese filling to assemble the pastry on top of the smaller heart shape.
  • Top with slices of strawberry.
  • Using egg or dairy-free milk, brush the outside of the pastry to help with browning.
  • Sprinkle the pastry with a bit of sugar.

Notes

You can reroll leftover dough if needed to make more hearts.
